Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Score for their work on this year's Best Picture, The Hurt Locker.
It was a great departure to go from huge orchestral scores like I Robot/Hellboy/T3, to a genre-specific film like 3:10 to Yuma, then to a tonal/sparse score like The Hurt Locker.
Buck Sanders has been Marco's score producer, programmer and guitar player for over ten years. The texture-heavy and manipulated nature of The
Hurt Locker score garnered a co-composer credit, as Buck was vital to the scoring process.
